So today, August 14, 2012, is International Left Hander's Day! This is the day the ten percent of the world's population who has to endure wind up watches with the winder on the wrong side, awkward handshakes, and struggles with scissors unite to celebrate their unique grasp on life.
Luckily, we don't as a society assume anymore that the only logical reason they could possibly have for using their left hand is demonic possession. And though we still have in our vernacular the word "sinsister" which finds its root in the Latin word for "left" we hardly need to fear our southpaw neighbors. In fact, we here in the Great Lakes Auto Network are very grateful to one very famous lefty: Henry Ford!
I guess given the amazing things that we do with electronics now in such exciting enhancements as Chevrolet's MyLink, General Motors' OnStar, Chrysler's MyGig, Hyundai's Bluelink (the list is seemingly endless) we should also commend lefty Ben Franklin for pulling electrons down from the clouds with his kite and key combination.
It seems, perhaps, we should applaud Mr. Franklin for the AC button, too.
At any rate, we here at the Great Lakes Auto Network, which includes: Great Lakes Chevrolet, Great Lakes Chysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Great Lakes GMC Buick, and Great Lakes Hyundai, salute the achievements of the Left Handed titans of the past and in the spirit of International Left Hander's Day wait in anxious anticipation for the contributions of our modern day left handed friends!
